spearfishing
We'll take you spearfishing.
We run targeted spearfishing charters for experienced- or at least knowledgable- speeros looking for white seabass, yellowtail, halibut, and- when possible- pelagics. For a less intensive experience, our reefs, bommies, and walls are good for various surfperch, rockfish and calico bass. If conditions allow, paddy hopping is a common means of hitting good fish. If we post up at a spot and conditions aren't good or the fish aren't there, we move- it's that simple.
We're active participants in kelp forest restoration and sustainable fisheries management and do not allow the taking of any shark species or California Sheephead on our charters. Sheephead are friendly puppies underwater and a species integral to the survival of our kelp forests.
Anyone wanting to spear must have a valid CA fishing license with Ocean Endorsement, good knowledge of California fish species, and the ability to properly size fish underwater. All Fish and Game regulations must be strictly obeyed.
If you're a "swim around and shoot anything that moves" type, we encourage you to join one of the party boats.

WE WILL TAKE YOU LOBSTER DIVING
Lobster are one of the last sustainable species to harvest in the bioregion and, well, few people ever mistake a giant seabass for a lobster and inadvertently kill an endangered species. We're happy to arrange lobster dives for day or night, typically in the Channel Islands or off The Ranch. Multi-day and inshore options are possible.
